How it works

Its simple. Click “contact”, send us an email and tell us what you want. Try to include as much detail on your requirements including photographs if appropriate. Depending on the size and design, we’ll respond with a price. In the next step we’ll produce a computer generated design plan of your carpet for your signed approval. When you are happy with the design your carpet will be produced especially for you. This normally takes about eight to twelve weeks depending on the design and size.

Tips to consider when choosing your design

  1. Consider the size of your carpet. We have standard sizes available but if you need a specific size we can make it to your special size. Remember that our carpets are not printed; they are hand-tufted from individual wool yarns of different colours. The larger the carpet the more detail can be incorporated into the design. Smaller carpets are less suitable for intricate designs. Think of this like the pixels on a screen, or a photograph. The more pixels, the better the definition. It’s a similar situation with individual coloured yarns.
  2. Note what you like. If you see an example design on our website which you like, but you would like different colours, that’s fine. Just let us know what you want. The more information, photographs, colour samples you provide, the more quickly we can arrive at your desired result.
  3. Colour and Texture. Designs can incorporate a wide range of colour and textured effects. Some designs benefit from “contoured” texturing where a three-dimensional structure is carved into the design. This works well in designs with sweeping curves, creating shadow and depth, or a simple logo which can be visually “lifted” from the background shade. But less well with very intricate designs, for example those taken from a photograph of a scene.
